question on 302

ive got a 1986 grand marquis that im pulling the motor out of and putting into my 75 ford maverick with a 250... converting the multiport to carburetion... my question is how would i do the vaccuum lines? i know the transmission, distributor, pcv and brake booster need vaccuum but i should be able to get those off the carb... are there any other things that really need vaccuum? i live in a non-emissions state so thats not an issue- the entire emissions system is getting stripped when i pull the 250.. also can i use the torque converter from the aod or would i have to get one that came from a c4 with a 302... the reason i ask about vaccuum is the 250 has a ton of vaccuum lines all over
thanks :-) darrin

Your vacuum lines sounds good. There might be a line going to the blend door for the heating system and one from the charcoal canister. I'm not sure on mavericks. The flexplate needs to be 50oz balance to work. If the c4 in the maverick has the large bellhousing and 11 1/2" torque converter bolt pattern then you can use the AOD flexplate. I'm not sure about using the TC. Aren't the AOD's a lock up torque converter? Maybe someone else can jump in here and help on this one.

Torque converters between a C-4 and AOD do not interchange. The AOD needs a throttle valve cable to work properly. The C-4 uses a vacuum modulator for this function.
