i have been fixing my cousins truck before winter comes, it needed a starter, last one lasted less than 3 years, and had check engine light on.
i put a lifetime starter in and when it was running again i stepped on the brake pedal and it caught for a second and then went to the floor. the brake line that runs fron left front to right front had rusted away.
i got rusted line out and made a replacement that i wanted to put in today.
he calls me last night at 11:30 and said "did you pick up my truck?" i said "no." and he said "someone just stole it!"
so the truck with no brakes is gone. he drove around looking for it but it was nowhere to be found.
he had left a key in the truck which was below the seat and he had a dog right next to the truck, fenced in of course.
a police report was filed, but he did not have theft insurance.
he bought the truck new in 1992 and had a used 5.0 engine put in two years ago.
