Axel seals
We just took our 2004 F150 4wd into the dealer to have it checked out since the warranty runs out at 36000 and we have 34000 on ours. They found a bad axel seal and replaced it. Has any one else had problems with axel seals?

if the axle seal goes bad there will be a wet spot around the hub where the rear wheel bolts on. With drum brakes it will be easily noticed because the lube runs down the back of the drum, but without drum brakes you might have to look a little closer around the inside of the wheel to see it. I haven't had any problems with my '05 yet, but I had both axle seals go out on my '97 at 34,000 miles.
