Thinking of starting a BIG project on my truck.It is a 77 F250 custom with a 4speed.
Takeing the seat out, head liner,And door pannels off.It has a little rust going on inside. That way I can start adding sound deading materal,And paint the inside.
The painting part I can handle.(retired industral painter)But takeing it apart is scare. The weather striping removing and installing.I have read most post on this.Is this something a novic (shade tree mach.) can do. It would be tough doing it in stages as it should be painted all at once.
Don
The seat should be 6 bolts, very easy. The headliner is just the screws around the moulding. The door panels are easiest with a tool meant for prying the plastic pins that hold the panel to the door from behind. The panels might be a little brittle from age, so be carefull. If you remove the weather stripping, I would plan on replacing it unless it is new. Most of the original is usually dried out by now and is a pian to reinstall.
Good luck!
that tool should be sold at most auto parts stores as a door panel removal tool i think. but, if your panels allready have cracks and breaks, just use a big flathead screwdriver. everything else just do what snowdog79 suggested.
