Unless someone wants to hook up with me in Johnstown the plan is to meet at the site in Shanksville at three o'clock then afterward head to a local watering hole. My cell phone is posted so give me a call. Hope somebody shows up or I'll be doing my BobbyVinton impression. You older guys should know that song.
If anyone shows up at the Memorial, I,ll be wearing a blue and red rugby shirt with a white collar, denim carpenters jeans and white sneaks. An all American outfit.
I went to the site and was affected immensely by it. I didn't realize how emotional I would get looking at the memorials some of the clubs had set up there and also seeing pictures of some of the people who where on the flight. I had the opportunity to speak with the aunt of Nicole Miller and had a photo taken with her mother. The heroism of those that where on that flight filled me with pride and reinforced my belief in man's ability to offer self sacrifice for the well being of others. I know in my mind and heart they will never be forgotten. When I can get the picture out of my cell phone camera I will post it on this thread.
Hey Soondg. When I was there a couple months ago there wasn't alot of people there, but the emotions were running for me and the family too. The people who take care of the place were terrific. I heard them tell the same story 5 or 6 times with the same caring and understanding tone everytime. I can't imagine what it was like with all those peolpe there. Took abunch of pictures, cause I don't when we'll get back there. Definitly when the perminent memorial is done. Proud to be an American? Dam right!!
