Unexplained Chime
I've encountered a "chime" that is coming from under the dash near the e-brake pedal. The chime only occurs after the truck has been started and running for approx 30 seconds and then stops after approx 60 seconds. The chime sounds like when the door is open with the keys in the ignition, only it is barely audible. I searched for about 30 minutes before I finally found where it was coming from. The PCM is located near the brake pedal, does the PCM make any warning noises? My SuperChips tuner shows no codes,,,,, I'm baffled. Any ideas??????

Diodes will squeele when they are dying, next time you hear it check the BJB under the hood and see if it is louder. The front 2 outboard "Fuse" slots are diodes. could be a diode on the board of the PCM but I would expect idleing/running issues.

I checked under the hood, no chime. I had half of my employees helping me at different areas of the truck. The chime is only at or near the PCM, is there any way the test the PCM to know if there is a problem with it?

forgot about that one but if the Air bag light in the cluster is out it does have a backup chime warning
Normal Operation
The air bag indicator is designed to illuminate for 6 (+/-2) seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position. This initial 6 seconds of illumination is considered normal operation and is called prove out of the air bag indicator. The air bag indicator is then used to warn the driver that there is a fault in the air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS).
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors the air bag indicator for short to battery conditions. If the RCM detects a short to battery condition on the air bag indicator circuit, it will store a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1870 in memory.
If the RCM detects an air bag indicator failure in addition to another SRS failure, the RCM will send a signal to the generic electronic module (GEM) to produce five sets of five tone bursts

Thanks to all for the input, as always great information. It was the air bag light out in the dash. Pulled the 10 amp fuse to check it (it was okay) replaced it and all is working fine now. Thanks again.
