Is any one taking in the races on Friday night? I've never been to the track but have heard lots of good reviews from friends. Friday night is the kickoff to the cruise weekend at the track. I'm thinking I might go.
I'll be in the pits, pitting for #19 Thunderstock Ray Utigard, im out there every weekend as i am pitting on two teams and yes it is a very nice facility, and snowking, you shouldnt have to worry about a line up as there are lots of seats and you can pre buy your tickets at mac's convinience stores so you can walk right in and it is designed so that there isnt a bad seat in the house. lol
Funny I should mention Ray, as he has a bitching 52' Ford truck which gives me some goals to set for my 52, it is a gorgeous truck my jaw drops everytime i see it lol
I got out there just after 7 and walked right in, got a good seat in the bleachers and had a great time. I cant believe how hot the front rotors on those cars get, they were glowing red, almost looked like they were close to the melting point. Cant imagine what that must do to the brake pads, calipers and fluid. I was a bit disappointed that there was only one for in the super stocks, A single t-bird, the rest were Monte Carlo's and T/A's. When it was all over I went directly to the truck and was out of the parking lot in less than a minute. I'm really impressed with the way they set the lot up, you exit directly onto highway 11, not like the bottleneck at Sask place.
ya, they really took they're time in planning how everything was going to be set up and it paid off in the end, and ya they're could be more fords outthere that would be nice, unfortunatly we didnt fair so well, we almost had a fight in the pits between out driver and one of the other drivers and in the feature race we had 2 front flats on, both a t differant times so we fell behind real nice lol
Well my driver, Ray got caught in the middle of a 3 wide on the front straight and he started gettin knocked around one car to the other and stu #8 was on the out side, and then after the race we were comin into the pit and stu comes up and rear ends us hard, AFTER THE RACE WAS ALREADY OVER!, and so they come to their spots and ray is screaming and swearing tryin to get out of his car because he wants a word with stu or a little more than just a word i dont know, and they exchanged some words, then after things calmed down and stu came over and was like well i hit you because i thought you were trying to run me into the wall on the front straight, which is dumb because the race was over and ray just said well if you ever hit me after the race again o boy but by all means during a race what ever theirs nothingi i can do, so its gunna be a nice little fued going for the rest of the year lol
I saw that happen at the end of the race as they were coming into the pits. He hit him a few times coming into the pits, didn't notice if there was any damage, but it wasn't a little tap. If It was me I would have gotten out of the car there and punched his lights out. That way the whole crowd and all the other cars waiting to get off the track would have witnessed and known what the beating was for.
