track bar woes

I'm having a problem getting my track bar to line up on my 76 f150 4x4.
I took the axle out to replace the c-bushings and can't get the track bar to line up with the hole on the axle. It's off by 5". The axle looks like it's centered in the frame. Should the bar be off this much? I realize it will be off a little.

With the front end on the ground, you can turn the wheel which will force the frame and body to move a little bit to help it line up. If you need a little more, you can use a come a long to pull the axle into position.
Do you currently have the front end hanging in the air with jackstands under the frame? This may be why the front end looks centered, but your track bar is so far off.

The front end is on the ground. The truck is currently a rolling chassis. I thought about trying a come-a-long. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

With no body on it, this is probably why the track bar seems short since the suspension is extended.

I had the same issues when I replaced all the bushings on the front of my truck. I used a jack and moved things that way as I didn't have a way to hook up a come- along.
