I have owned several mid-sixties trucks over the last 25 years. Recently I purchased a 66 F-100, long bed 6 cyl. with a 3 speed. It is an old farm truck, a little rusty but unmolested. A couple days after this purchase, I came across a 66 Camper Special with a 6 cyl., auto trans and power brakes. It had been extensively restored by a local body shop several years ago. It needs some freshening up but it is very nice. I had to buy it! It will give me something to drive while I take a part the F-100. I'm an automotive technician by trade and I've been self employed for the last 11 years with my own shop and used car lot that sells a particular brand of Swedish upscale automobile exclusively. My wife and employees are pretty sure this is a mid-life crisis, or worse.
I'm loving working on these solid old trucks that are so fixable. I've found this site with the "slick sixties" forum to be very helpful.
