I'm going to DP tuner saterday and am now rethinking my choice for chip settings
which setting will give me the best fuel milage driving locally (NOT HIGHWAY) I drive 10 miles to work every day half is at 55 (or less if the idiots will not get out of the way) and the other 5 miles is at 35-40 mph
i'm looking at the 40 tow and 80econo
will the 60tow get as good milage as the 40 driving locally?
I've got a friend who drives 30miles of backroads to work and claims he gets the best fuel milage on the 120 setting
I typically run around town on the 100 setting, but it's more for the little bit of extra power over the 80 setting. The 80 econo setting would probably provide the most economical setting for around town driving.
Lately I've been using the 120HP setting for all around driving. I love the shifting in that setting. The 80HP Econo program shifts into OD too soon for me.
I use my 80 setting most of the time - it has the best shifting compared to my other settings. I use the 120 for rolling a little smoke - that's about it.
I would consider installing an aftermarket water temp gauge. After I installed mine I was surprised to see just how long it takes for this truck to warm up. Dash gauge would go up to where it usually sits but according to the other gauge the thermostat hasn't opened yet! If you only drive a short way to work it might be something to think about. Sorry i can t help you with your DP ? Mines should be shipped this week.
I run on 80 in town and when I tow for the most part (unless I hit an extreme long uphill grade, then it's down for 40). It smokes a lot even on the 80 setting if I lug it and/or if I give it a decent amount of throttle. On 120 the smoke is ridiculous so I really only use when when people do stupid stuff and they deserve to get, "inked." But when I had the stock turbo it ran great on 80 and got better mileage as well.
I just put my dp tuner in yesterday and haven't wiped the smile on my face once, not even in my sleep. I don't know what will get better millage but jody did say that a few people said that the 60 hp setting can get better millage driving around in town.
