I always thought that my 00 4.6l only had two o2 sensors and hten i was looking on the computer and I ran across a kit that said that it included all 3 o2 sensors. Am i wrong or did I read the listing wrong.......Oh yeah I posted a link a couple of months ago about my truck misfiring. With new plugs and all 8 coils later it is running like a champ. Thanks to our mediator and all of the guys on here with great tips and advice. Without things like this its not fun to work on your own stuff.
My 5.4 has two O2 sensors before the cats and 2 O2 sensors after the cats. I would guess that the 4.6 , would be the sameI recall reading about this issue in other threads and i remeber people saying that the 4.6 had 4 sensors also. Hopefully someone can give you a better answer just in case i'm not correct!
Replacing any of them without any indication of a fault is likely to be a waste of money. Unless you're throwing a code or you've observed the sensor's waveforms on a graphing scan tool and observed that there is a fault, there's little point in replacing them.
I wasnt going to replace them but I was just curious because I saw that package of three on Ebay and I was just curious because it didnt sound right. But apparently I was was wrong thinking that it had two anyways. Thanks for the responses
