Today I just purchased a 1995 PSD F350 c/c 4x4 with a 186,000 miles. I have noticed some of you carry some spare parts (electronics, belt, tools), are there any recomended items I should think about carrying?
well you cant ever carry to much.
but for starters a few things you should carry are:
tools
cps from ebay 60 bucks or so.
10 mm wrench to remove it.
fuses. and a 30 amp maxi fuse in case your fuel heater ever decides to go on you.
serpentine belt
i went overboard:
cps
idm
throttle pedal
injector
my old uvc harnesses
old vc gaskets
plug repair kit
fuel filter
tires x2
serp belt x2
hpo rail orings in case my hpx hose ever blows along with the brass plugs
tds help network
tools
6203 2rsj bearing for idler pulleys
injector oring kit x2
i am not a paranoid person. just prepared. this is stuff i have collected in the last few years or replaced and figured what good does it do me if i am 500 miles from home and she breaks down and i had the part in the garage therefore i carry it on board. you should see behind my rear seat. looks like a ford parts house. not to mention my wife hates being stuck and starts stressing me out when we break down. (other cars ive owned)
i am sure i am missing some things.
i also carry this stuff incase i run into another stranded fellow psd. if i can help him i will. this is what we do you will see. its not just a truck its a part of you and a brotherhood.
dont be scared very dependable trucks. and a lot of what you read on here is peoples problems. not the good. but think of how many of our trucks are out there???
Hey Ryan, tell me more about those two bearings. What doers RSJ mean? Are they both the same? Are they a standard bearing that can be purchased at any good bearing store? Thanks, Eric
i got em from napa. they are like 10 bucks each. the 2rsj means it has a rubber seal on front and back. very easy to replace i did all 3 like 8 months ago.
