vinyl restore
Last year I was looking for a padded dash for my 66 F-250, I found one in the junk yard out of one that had been sitting for along time with the front window gone. I was amazed to discover that even after being exposed for what I would guess years, it was still in perfect condition, except that it was extreamly "gray" and faded from the elements. I paid the yard $10, and carefully removed it, brought it home, cleaned it and used Armorall to try and bring it back. (no luck), then I bought a can of black Vinyl paint and put two coats on it, (looked good until it dried, then turned a washed out looking black [still no luck]), I was just about ready to toss the thing when I looked in my shop and noticed a can of MinWax (furniture wax). I had a couple beers in me, and with nothing better to do at the time, I spread this stuff on the padded dash, to my amazement, the thing pollished up new looking. And I do mean "New" looking. (had to get the wife and son to verify what I was seeing).
I also tried this same proceedure on the vinyl door storage box cover with the same results. (after painting it white).
This is one of those things that works, Try it. (I'll never use a vinyl pollish again) why get that stuff on the window and dash, when this works better.
