Welding up front diff
I've got a 79 F-150. Front end is a D44. What are yall's thoughts about welding up the spider gears? Other than breaking u-joints if the tire is turned too far in either direction, what are some bad things that can happen? I have manual hubs so street use is not a problem. The truck is pretty much a bogger so it just goes in straight lines through a hole. Thanks.

well i welded the gears in the front of my bronco too and the biggest problem i had was breaking hubs and some times shafts but my u-joints are still holding. I kept putting stock hubs back on instead of warn or mile marker cause i figured those should be the weak point, rather replace a hub than the R&P.
