FE kicks butt

Well, this past Saturday I attended another one of my stick shift races. It's a group running NE Ohio (UMTR-united manual trans racers). We run a handful of tracks in the area thru the summer and this past weekends I KICKED BUTT and took all the marbles home

The ol wagon laid down the law and sent all the rest pack'n. Low .520 lights and no one had a chance in five rounds. I was third in points, but the top guys went out first round.....so......

Right now I'm #1 in points standings with one race left. It's a re-schedule that got rained out twice before. I'm two rounds in the lead, so keep your fingers crossed and hopefully I can pull this off. This is the first year for this group and sure would be nice to win the jacket and prizes(sponsored by Mr. Gasket co).

It will be finalized on Sept 9(the final rain date).

We have averaged 40+ cars at each event so far. Not bad...and hopefully more to come.

.520 on a .500 TREE!!! ya, that's right....this ol man can cut it down with the best of them LOL!! ( I turned 40 a couple weeks ago so I classify as over the hill now).

The final round was a .513......chew on that!

Sorry no video. They do stream video on their webpage. You can basically watch it as it happens at Norwalk....if you want to stay up long enough to watch it!

I do have a couple vids from a few years back. Maybe I'll get Art to host it for me like the others.

http://www.norwalkraceway.com/racer-...-race-results/

note: look real close at race results. The "top" class(which has delay boxes) was .035 or worse and the "mod"(no box) was .000 !!!!! Don't say much for having electronics does it? I can throw a clutch pedal quicker! DOH!

I guess I classify as "in denial": for a half-decade to date.

Next time you plan on running, give us a heads-up! There is a 2 hour difference between here and Ohio. That's plenty of time for us old goats out West. LOL

Won't be at Norwalk again til next year. You can watch any of the races there though(just won't be me!)

I'm going to Ford Expo/NMRA at Columbus National Trails over Labor day. Should be a good time. Nostalgia pays $1500!

Money?

Ya, right

Well it paid $650 this time. I've gone far enough a few times to get $150 or so a few times. Don't think I've won $1k this year......so....

new slicks $400
new gearset for tranny $450
new driveshaft $300
new clutch disc $100
fuel, costs to get in, diesel for Mack, etc......WAYYY to much to count.

Drag racing....Priceless

I do have a stick race next month that guarantees $1k payout. Labor day Expo in Columbus pays $1500 to nostalgia. Anything is possible, but you can't count on ANYTHING!

No, drag racing is not keeping us in steaks............more like bologna sandwiches

Good job on your reaction time and results. Good luck for the big one.
Just curious, you got a 1/4 mile time for that beast of a car.
