Hey guys, got a quick question. Lately when i start my truck, it cranks the reves come up some, then drop to almost zero, then it comes back up to normal idle. This happens everytime i try to start the truck. Recently, the Glow plugs, GPR, Injector O-rings, ICP, fuel/water seperator, and oil were changed. So my question is what do you think would cause this to happen? The truck has 141K and the CPS was replaced at 90K (says the previous owner) So is it possible that it's going out again? any info would be great. Thanks!
Hey guys. Well i'm back up at school, and my trucks starting issue is getting progressively worse..... also it idles horrible warm or cold. I was thinking of replacing the ipr and cps just to see if they help anything. Does anyone have instructions or pictures on how to change an IPR? thank you!
Robbgt, If you can scan it, I believe there is a specific code for CPS (there was for my 97 F-350). When mine when bad it went intermitently but was always %100 good (run fine) or %100 bad (shut off and not start).
I don't know what the IPR does exactly but it looks cheap enough to try I guess.
I would try to get it scanned and from there.
I had one of my buddies back home scan it with his edge, and the (KAM Keep alive memory) code came up. I think thats because I was connecting and disconnecting the batteries at the time when i was doing some work on my engine. That was the only code it threw. To be honest, I'm not one to put a whole lot of faith into those diagnostics anyways, only because i've known alot of people wasting money on things that wern't broken. I'd rather go by experence of others based on the symptoms of the truck. Thanks for the info though!
