Wow, beautiful. What camera are you using that can freeze frame a hummers wings in motion ? I know the bottom pic he is perched, but you about froze them in the upper one while in flight.

I've posted this one here before, but I had to post it again. Out of all the pictures I have taken, this one is my favorite, taken in Hawaii last year.
I'm sure y'all with appreciate this picture:
Great shots, B.A...........Hummers started to swamp my area about a month ago.......Big number of the ruby-throated ones, but boatloads of blacks and grays too........beautiful and fun to watch.
p.s. Seen more black/yellow finches this year than any previous year......Might be the sunflowers I planted, but some of the smaller ones even dip into the hummingbird feeder right alongside the hummers.....they seem to get along fine....
Outstanding photos Bob. You must have a rock-steady hold to get focus like that! And the GMC POS shot brings a smile, especially with the rust coming through below the tail light.
Outstanding shots. My wife's still trying to teach me how to use her D50. Great camara, but I don't think I'll be taking shots like that anytime soon.
The D50 came out after I bought my D70....It's a lot cheaper, and has most of the features of the D70! What lenses does your wife have???? You will
be learning that D50 for a long time! I've had my D70 for about 19 months
now, and I'm still learning it!!
Looking at the EXIF, the difference between the 'frozen' wings and the intentional blurred ones, the exposure time difference is 4/10000 and 5/10000 sec. Is that all there is to that? That 'small' difference will freeze the wings?

The wings that are blurred are due to DOF, not shutter speed.......
