front disc rotor
jack up the front end for both as you will need to replace pads on both sides at the same time. remove the wheels, once off you will see the caliper and rotors. The calipers are removed by pushing a bushing retainer found at top and bottom, the caliper will then lift off, tie it up to take the strain off the brake line. the caliper mount is removed by removing 2 bolts on the back side of the rotor. once all is off, pull/knock off the front spindle cover, remove the cotter key, remove the nut and place in a clean rag. pull the rotor out and the bearing will come out and can be removed. pull the rotor off and there ya have it.
You will need to either replace or reuse the bearings in the new rotor assembly, I would replace both sets (inner and outer). remove the rear seal if you plan to reuse the bearings, buy a new one for use.
rotors come with the inner races so the bearings will not need the one included.
grease the bearings (inner 1st) install, install the new seal, install on the spindle. Grease the outer bearing install on spindle into rotor. reinstall the nut and washer and tighten till tight, back off 1/4-1/2 turn tighten by hand, install the lock cover and a new cotter key. install the spindle cap.
reinstall the caliper mount. now you install the pads into the caliper, but I would recommend that you replace the old caliper as that is probably what caused the wear to begin with. they run about $20 each ( a rebuild kit is about $15 and a PIA to install). remove the brake line from the old caliper, install new crush washers, install with the brake pads replace the caliper retainer bushings (come with the new calipers) or if not R&R the calipers buy new ones. bleed the brake.
now do the other side and replace the wheels and youa re done.
