I currently own a 78 ford f-150, but the frame is shot. I found a 1979 stepside. My 78 is not a step side. Will my bed fit okay on the 79 frame, even though it's not a stepside? Also it has a T-10 tranny on a 302. What standard tranny (stick) will bolt up to my 351m?

Styleside / Flareside are just boxes.

If the wheelbase is the same, the boxes should inter-change .

The fuel tanks will have to be moved over as well.

 

Isn't the wheelbase the same on the 73-79 shortbeds? Even if it is stepside or regular?

It is the same regardless of bed style, as long as you are going short to short or long to long.
