hey non ford question?
working on truck it is marked dot 5 brake fluid it's not purple or dark it is almost yellow. dot 3&4 wont mix . tryed differn't companys for coulors every one said theres it purple any help would be appresiated.

Why would mixing colors matter? In my sports car I alternate between ATE Super Blue and Gold fluids, so I know when I've fully bled the system.
Anyhow, you're on track about not using DOT 3,4, or 5.1 Only DOT 5. It's silicone based stuff and it's not compatible.
I do wonder though - many DOT3s come in a golden color - perhaps someone already put a different fluid in there?

if some one put the wrong fluid in then all the seals in the system would have swelled up like tripple in size within the first couple applications of the pedal. the brakes would be stuck on and from having seen this once the truck wouldn't move.
