I will definitely be keeping my V10. When you buy a new truck, getting a fair price
for the new one is just part of the deal. If you have a trade-in, the dealers want to maximize their profits and give you almost nothing for your trade. My best offer was $5000.00 under the so called "trade-in" value shown on the Kelly Blue Book site and the NADA site. No wonder there are so many new trucks still on the dealers lots at the beginning of the forth week of August.
Thanks for all the feedback!
I haven't had my '04 F-250 SD SuperCab 4X4 long enough to even know what mileage it's going to get but, based on the poll results and information I've seen on here I don't know why the general public have their opinion about the V-10's mileage. I had a '94 Ranger 4X4 extended cab with the 6-banger that got 16 mpg mixed (city/highway) driving. I traded that for an '01 Silverado 1500 4X4 extended cab with the 5.3L that got 15 mpg mixed and averaged 8.5 mpg pulling our travel trailer across the country earlier this year. With that experience and the potential work that the V-10 can do, I don't think I'll have any complaints. If you want something that'll "Git 'er Done" you're gonna have to pay the price! So far, I'm a happy customer!!!
I drive an '05 V10 E-350 and at 55mph on the Interstate I get 17-20mpg, have seen it as high as 23. Towing is 12-14. At faster speeds she falls quickly.
I didn't want a V10 when I bought it, but now I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
I love the way it tows:
Last time I checked, the PSD extended warranty was more than the V10. I wonder why that is?
Last week I went to take advantage of Ford's 0% deal on a new F-250 Crew Cab V-10 4X4 and all they had were Powerstrokes in the lot. I could not find
a V-10 to replace my 2002 F-250 Crew Cab 4X4 V-10 anywhere in Michigan
or around me. The dealer told me that nobody wants V-10's because of the gas prices. I told him I did not want a Powerstroke because I refuse to pay for a truck that will spend half it's life in the dealer getting worked on. By this time
they gave me a trade in price for $17,000. My truck has 57,000 miles on it and is like brand new. Look's like I will pay of the old V-10!
