Beware of head swaps on the 352. The cylinder bores are too small to clear some of the bigger valve heads without overbore or clearancing the cylinders.
Fredscsa, The 352 is a fine engine for a truck, If yours is in good condition just tune it up. And parts you invest in for the 352 will swap over to a 390 later if you decide you want more power. In the mean time you can enjoy your truck and make other improvements. I would install the Pertronix Ignitor and their coil, a Ford flat distributor cap and adapter, long nose rotor, 8mm plug wires and platinum tipped spark plugs. Have your distributor checked out or just core it for about 60 bucks. Also do the usual stuff like fuel, oil and air filter, lubrication and oil change. Service the transmission and rear differential. Check all fluid levels and pull the brake drums for a close inspection of the brake shoes and wheel cylinders. There will be much more stuff to repair on your old Ford, so post back.

Fred: Sounds like you're yearnin' for learnin'! Here are some really good links to learn about the engine family ford called the FE - Ford/Edsel. The 352 is one of them, and was the basis for developing many of the finest engines ever made.
Here is another forum I visit often. It is dedicated to the FE engine, and is excellent for good info. Since I found this forum, though, I spend most of my time here, because they deal mostly with cars over there.
