I went out and bought a cheap orbital waxer from PepBoys so I could treat my baby.
Any tips I should know?
Going on seems relatively simple what what's the best way to take it off?
12v polishers can be a pain. Use quality wax, mothers goes on and comes off abit easier than meguires. If your baby is black, use zaino brothers. I like to wash, use mothers pre wax cleaner, mothers reflections polish, mothers sealer and glaze, mothers phase three wax. As soon as it cools off, I plan on clay baring.
I just used a clay bar for the first time, and it did a great job of removing the grit that was embedded in my old wax/paint. I did find that it couldnt remove some of the larger elements, but it was still like night and day when I felt the smoothness of the paint. Its worth the extra 30 minutes to go ahead and do it.
yeah i already bought a clay bar kit an di intend on doing that before hand
my question though is I have never used the orbitial polisher for waxing and i was wonderin if I need to know anything? Also what is everyones opinion on taking the wax off best way?
Keep the polisher moving, if it has a random orbit it is not as critical. If it's spinning though, I always move mine around and keep a fair amount of whatever under the bonnet. As for taking it off, a clean bonnet works for me, then some spots need a touchup with a clean terry towel.
I use a good random orbital polisher/buffer regularly.. I dont trust myself with heavy duty buffer that has to keep moving.. I tried it once years ago and left alot of swirl marks... My personal approach is as follows:
-apply wax with buffer using terry cloth bonnet.
-after wax is dry, buff using a 2nd, clean and dry terry bonnet.. This cleans up the car but doesnt seem to leave a great shine, mostly due to bonnet getting filled with wax residue. If you find spots you missed with wax, touch up now.
-go over 2nd time with foam bonnet to get all residue and get good shine.
-Last time around with wool/sheepskin like bonnet for final buffing.
I am always open to new ideas.. so feel free to critiqe my approach.. My wife often comments on how much time I spend on the cars on waxing days.. maybe you can offer ideas to make her happier

Liquid waxes and sealants can be applied with any orbital. Carnauba application should be done by hand, but may be removed with your orbital and a terry bonnet. True surface correction (swirl, scratch and oxidation removal, etc.) will only be accomplished with a professional orbital or rotary polisher.
