help guys!!
i have a 78 f-100 wiht a 3 on the tree. well i decided to change over to an automatic. i took the tranny and transfer case out of 83 f-150. it is a c-6 tranny i think. my question is now im getting a constant vibration. i used the flywheel off of the 150 which was a 351 w. the engine in my f-100 is a inline 6. could it b coming from the flywheel? please help me out guys

The 351W is an externally ballanced engine. The flywheel is either 28 oz or 50 oz depending what year. I don't know what the ballance is on the 300 but I would bet it is different that the 351. Since you went from 3sp to automatic you will need to get a flexplate for that engine. A flex plate is different than a manual flywheel and I don't think that that will work. You may be able to find one at a junkyard but you should also be able to order one from your local parts store. A flex plate is not too costly and the one off the 351 will tear your engine up quickly.
