I'm not sure the exact operation of you head unit, but they make a control box that will send the proper signal to the head unit, check you local stereo shop, i believe its called a pak7 or something like that. I installed one on my pioneer HU, works great

Welcome to FTE georgeg!!
I think your looking for the "switch" that tells the dash brake lite to come on, thus sending a signal to the DVD unit that its "Safe" for you to play a movie or turn the TV tuner on?
It should be a 2-wire connection (Circuit 0162; Assembly 12A581) Wire color you are looking for is LG/RD
