Tranny fill plug?

Alright, I've looked through the topics and used the search engine on this site to no avail. The Haynes manual hasn't done me much good either. So, where is the tranny fill plug on my truck? 1986 F-250, 6.9 diesel, automatic. I have looked and cannot find it. Am I blind or is it in front of my face but is covered by the dirt and grease? Any help would be most apppreciated. Driver side? Passenger side? I give up.

Next question: I'm told that I have a C6 transmission with this truck as it is a standard cab. While looking for the fill plug I found the transmission tag( or what I believe to be the tag) and on it is inscribed C2 with all the other stuff. What is that referring to? I've done a search on this site and nothing comes up under "C2". Anyone have any ideas?

Get a transmission funnel, and fill through the dipstick tube. To bad they didn't just put drain plugs in the pan, would certianly make fluid changes less of a pain this the @ss.

Drain Plug

You need to change the oil filter in the tranny anyways so the pan has to come off when you change oil.

A drain plug would make it a little less messy but probably would increase the cost per truck by about a penny and a half.

I have yet to work on an automatic with a drain plug on the oilpan.

At least a drain plug would would eliminate the big spush of oil all over the palce when you want to drain the system, change filters etc.. Oh yah, a fill plug would also make a lot more sense then filling, driving, checking the level, don't overfill, check again, pull some out with a suction gun b.s. A drain plug and a fill plug would make life so easy people would service their transmissions way to much, which would put the parts guys and rebuilders out of business- can't have that- no drain plugs- no fill plugs.
