Wooden Bed
I just bought a 64 F100 with wooden planks in the bed. They are rotted and in serious need of replacement. Can anyone tell me what kind of wood was originally used in the bed of this truck? Or what you would recomend as a replacement?

I think that oak was used. If you are trying to restore the truck, I would get some nice oak boards, cut to fit, do it right. The metal strips are available, check the site store or some vendor sites. Have seen alot of these trucks with pine boards, usually pine was used due to the higher cost of the oak boards, but they just don't look right to me..!
