Cps??
I'm having trouble with my 97 7.3 diesel 5 speed. Looking for some information. The other day I was driving down the highway and my truck lost all power and the check engine light came on. Took it out of gear gave it gas and it picked back up and the check engine light went off. After reading some of the forums I'm thinking CPS? I'm not a mechanic so I took it to the shop the other day. They said it was throwing some codes, one if which this year of truck doesn't even have. The other two were CPS and bad cylinders. So I'm a little leary of trusting the garage.

Joe, I would start with the simple things, which the CPS is one of. Don't go to the stealership to buy one. The cheapest are found on e-Bay but some of our sponsers sell them at a resonalble price or if you are in a hurry, your local International dealer will have one a lot cheaper than Ford.
