driver is cold while passenger is cool

First off let me say thank you all and keep up the good words, and also let me apologise ahead for this long explanation.I don't know when it started but my son was riding with me the other day and i had the ac set on my in 2002 explorer limited to auto.He said it was still a little hot but i was cold.when i put my hand infront of his face vent it was really warm air i was feeling.change settings to manual and drop the temperature to 60 and circulate. it only got my side colder even. my son was still simmering. then went to dual.still no change on his side.As soon as i got home i started checking on it and this is what i found...
a thumping sound a little louder than that of a normal compressor engaging when the ac is turned on from the direction where the compresser is.driver side works fine in all settings.the digital display in all modes works fine for driver or passenger and both.up to the max and down to the coldest.the passenger side temperature wont pass about 75 even though the display is all the way down to 60.that's the problem.you guys are able to save drivers alot of money.please help me save some to.any help is good

sounds like the passanger blend door actuator quit. if you drop the glove box you might be able to see it, but you have to remove the dash and floor console to replace it
