Replacing the Transmission
Hello. I have a 1985 F-150, V8 engine (302 I think) with an AOD transmission. A friend of mine is a mechanic and he's helping me to put in a new transmission. I have heard that not just an AOD can fit on this truck. I was wondering if you guys knew which other transmissions I can use? C5 or C6? Thanks for your help!

As far as bolt to the motor, C4,6 will fit, but the length of the trans is different so drive shaft changes need to be made, but if you had the driveshaft from a pickup as well, it would bolt right in, but something else to look out for is the shifter linkage being different between car and truck trannies.
