4R70W + transgo kit problems
After everything is done I go to drive it and the problems begin. When I put it in D I get one gear (unsure as to which) and it will not shift to any other gear. I can put it in 1 and shift to 2 and it will shift fine and act normal. When I shift from 2 to D nothing happens. Once I hit about 50-60 mph when its in D if I let off the gas and give it gas again it just revs from 1000-3000 rpm and then it will actually pick up and go.
Sunday I pulled it apart to check for a stuck valve or similar and did notice that there were a few aluminum shards in the bottom of the pan. Seems like I didnt clean them out good enough after drilling the holes between the partitions. I ran out of brake clean
. Anyways I cleaned everything up as good as I could. Pulled out all springs/parts I had to swap with the shift kit and put them back in making sure nothing was sticking. I put everything back together and once again....Same problem.Anyone have some suggestions as to what could be wrong? I ordered a new 2-3 accumulator piston today and a drain plug to save time as im sure ill have to pull this thing apart many times to figure out the problem. This weekend I plan to change the piston and pull the valve body completely apart and clean it/put it back together and see if that does the trick. If not I guess a new valve body it is. I read quite a bit over at tccoa.com about these kits being horrible and known for causing problems, but at the same time I think its a bit on the BS side bc they dont have anything to support what the say but you never know.
