Cool Help!!

I just started my routine oil change and when I took off the oil filter a flat round and a normal washer along with a spring about two inches long fell out. How bad is this and how do I fix this? I need to get it going for work tomarrow. Thanks in advance for the help fellas!!

Sounds like the oil filter relief. On my 94 it was held in by pinging the metal around the hole just enough to hold it in.

here you go courtesy of kwiks photos

although his is a 99.5 i think they are the same. last time i looked up in there anyway.

i know for a fact we have the screen i have seen mine before. and if you found the washer i can only assume you need the c clip also. making obs to nbs identical.

There was a flat carbon like washer a spring and a normal washer. It looks like the flat carbon like washer goes in first, then the spring, then the washer with a hole in it holds it all in. Does this sound right? Do you just tap the washer with the hole in it into place and thats it? I figured I'd try that if you guys say its alright. Thanks for the help!!

you can buy those at most hardware stores and they are open sundays. just buy a couple close sizes in comparison to the washer and try em out. good luck

Sorry for the repost but we were writing at the same time. Does the spring go in first?

I got it back in but there was no ring in there for the c-clip to fit in. I used a socket the same size as the washer and pressed it back in. Well I guess I'll see if it holds it in at the next oil change. Thanks for the help!!
