trans temp broken??
So I finally installed my trans temp gauge (loved getting back to the high school wiring stereo days) heres the deal, the probe went into the tranny like a champ the poss prob is the stud sticking out with the nut, washer, and nut to connect your wire to,....well I cranked down the wire and the bottom nut thread down and smahed something! looks like porcelain or something close. I went the 20mi to get the tranny to operating temp I never went over about 135F ( I just put in my tru cool 1 week earlier) does that temp sound right or should I buy a new probe ?

While you may have damaged the body of the sending unit, it sounds like the unit is still working. 135* sounds about 50 over ambient or so and is about what I run around showing unless I get to pulling a load up a hill and it's very hot.

i know for sure something is wrong with mine. i am looking for someone that needs a new gauge and not a sender, so they can sell me the sender to fix my problem. it's just a blank gauge as far as im concerned. turn the key on and it moves to ~100, and then hasn't moved since then.
