I posted this in the " Suspension, Tires and Wheels " section also...
I am getting rin of the 16"x5"x8 lug split rims from my 1966 F250..Other than dumping them is there any other place or anybody that would want em ??
I am in SF, CA bay area..
So if it came with regular rims. Were they mag style or were they something else? were they the style shown on here, in the posting about chrome trim?

The 1966 F100 Did NOT even have split rims as a option. Split rfims in 66 were 8 lug..Plain jane steel wheels were the stock wheels in 1966..Back in those days you did NOT see any ( or at least not many) trucks with mags or alum wheels. I bought this 66 F250 Camper Special, Custom Cab, new in 65 and had almost every factory option ( avail in Calif ).. If I remember right a couple of the dealer options were under dash a/c and a under frame " saddle " gas tank.

So What do plane jane steel wheels look like, do they have wheel(hub caps) covers? Were the tires on them standard tube type, or were they something else?

I can look and look and look. For me someone really would have to point and say THOSE are what a 66 came with. I have no clue if I were to look at a truck and see it with plane jane wheels and think. hey those are what came on them from the factory. I hate to seem like a pest but I am not all that car savy as far as what will and wont go, or what was or wasn't on em to begin with.
I hate to seem like a bother, but I really appreciate the help
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-Jun-02 AT 07:51 PM (EST)]I am interested in getting rid of my split rims and getting "new" style rims to mount radial tires. I have a F350 with dual wheels (dished out front wheels) Where did you get the new wheeels you are using?
I am USING this truck for yard work and need usable wheels not "correct" wheels
I really " lucked out " and was reading the classifieds here and saw a guy redoing his 79 F250..I took a chance and wrote him about wheels. Well he bought 4 16 " x 8 lug from his local wrecking yard for $ 60 total. Used them to move his truck in and out of his garage.
This guy lives in WA state and me in CA Bay area..BUT it so happens my brother was coming down in his truck and when I gave my bro the address of the guy with the wheels he found out they live about 3 miles apart..So my bro brought the wheels ( with some meat left on the mounted tires )
Now I am waiting for another guy to come down from WA state on his way to Los Angeles to pick up the 5 split rims..
I have seen pics of what Stockton Wheels does to them....GREAT ..I think its about $ 110 a wheel to get them completely refurbed with nice chrome beauty ring too.
