temp sending unit

where does the sending unit usually go on a c6 for temp gauge? would a regular engine gauge work, it starts at 100, stops at 260. thanks guys.

In the cooling line going to the cooler.

Transmissions can run hotter than 260.

Not for long but they can.

would it be ok to tie in there with a t, and read from that? I dont plan on going over 260, and if it hit that i would just have to back off.

Yes, a "T" fitting will work fine.
The other option is to poke a hole in the pan.

The cooler line gives you a real time temperature though.
