Factory Amp???

I've looked over a lot of the posts and have not been able to find an answer for this. I bought a factory amp bypass harness but I can't find the factory amp!! I know its supposed to be behind and below the temp control and radio, but all I see is a lot of black ABS plastic (heat ducts?).

How deep into this dash do I have to dig? I've taken out the center console shell, but left the white plastic base in place and I can't find anything that even looks like an amp. Radio and temp controls are out as well as half of the front of the dashboard and the top diamond shaped plastic piece. Am I doing something wrong? Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have an 2000Expy EB with a mach system also. Should say had. Any way, there is only one power amp in this set up, and that is for the sub speaker located in the right rear panel. The power amp is located there also. There is no power amp for the HU in the front.
