NP 205 Problems
I have a 1975 NP 205 transfer case that I took apart and am rebuilding. The only problem is that the intermediate shaft in the center of the case will not go back into place. I have tried to press it back in and can not get it all the way back into place. There is a small plate with three bolts that is supposed to bolt on one side of the case at the end of the shaft. The problem is that I can't get the shaft in far enough for that plate to bolt up flush with the case. Does anyone have any thoughts to what I can do to fix this? Is there supposed to be some shims on that shaft? Thanks for the help.
