oilling a 460 all roller

i am wondering what can be done and or if it needed to keep the oil from rushing to the top end so much and try to keep down in the mains and rods some say leave the oil passages and dont restrict nothing more oil the better even if it is blowing out the breathers a bit and som esay you dont need much oil going to the top end i have head you can restrict the flow in a passage in the front of the motor behind the timeing gear but some blocks that passage also flows to the mains how can i tell what block dose and what dosent or just leave the oiling system alone the motor is hopflly going to run 8000+ rpm's in a pulling truck any advice welcome thanxs

Depends on how much money you want to spend, and how far into it you want to get. One thing you can do is bush the lifter bores. This had 2 advatanges, one it means you have to have them bored for the bushings so they can be lined up properly, and number too it means they can be restricted without totally restricting the oil flow into the passage possibly loosing oil to the end lifters (plus it's the only way to restrict to the left side of the engine without cutting off the flow to the mains). Another option is to use restrictor pushrods, which will just restrict the amount of oil going to the heads. Something else that can be done to help with the oil ending up in the heads is tap the backside of the head right above the oil return passage and put in a fitting for 8-an hose, then 2 fittings in the oil pan and run a external return line from the heads back to the pan. several advantages there. Or you can go with an aftermarket block that has priority main oiling and not worry about it.
