Hi People, I am new here. I have this problem with my 1994 Ford Aerostar 2W 3.0 It seems that when you start the Van, and try to put the shifter in drive, it gets stuck in park. If you hit the brake hard, it comes out. I also do not have brake lights (after almost being rear-ended) and I do not like not having brake lights. Anyway, I was told it was the interlock solinoid switch. Well, if I knew where it was I would change it. Does anyone know if this is the problem with my Aerostar, and where to find the Interlock switch on it. Thanks in advance!!!
actually called the Brake On-Off switch, aka BOO...
located (from Ford service manual Cd) Behind LH side of Instrument Panel, on brake pedal support
bet the cruise control brake release and RABS do not work also
easy to replace, aftermarket manuf. part....does not have to be Ford part
