Stock Wheel Question
I have a 1960 F-250 4X4 - 292. I am putting the stock wheels back on. When I had the old tires dismounted, there were tubes. I believe the rims are 16"x7"wide - 8 lug. My question is; Can I put regular tires on these rims, or do I have to use tubes again? The reason I ask is the valve stem hole looks bigger than a regular rim.
With all that said, what is the tallest widest tire I can get away with on the stock rims?
Thanks for the help!!

As another user mentioned you can use the later model wheels if yours are split rims, I am not sure if they are or not.
In answer to your question on the valve stem size. Use the steel ones and then you can use tubeless Radials or Bias. Radials will give you a better ride, and you don't have to run 70-85 lbs psi in them.
I myself have used Michelen for years now and you couldn't change me on them. I used to run another brand and they kept on cupping, on the front. The current tires I am running are 235 75 R16.
You can go a little higher with 85s and a little wider dependig on your wheel size.
As in response to Nuthin, your one of the first to mention the bias tubeless on stock rims since I did mine 12 years ago. No one believed me on this.
Hope this may have shed some light on the matter.
