all i can say is holy crap! just got back from disneyland which ment 5 hours of I5. my 2006 f-250 supercab, long bed, 4x4, 6.0, all stock except for a mbrp exhaust (gallery) unloaded, averaged almost 24 mpg crusin at 75 with the A/C on!! i filled up just as i got onto I5 and toped off just before the grapevine and when i calculated the millage i couldnt belive it! my girlfriend (who wanted to go to disneyland) was getting impatient as i must have checked the math 6 times in the gas station parking lot. now other than bragging about millage, i was wondering if anyone else has hit these numbers? i hit 21 in my old powerstroke. but 21-24 is a big gap, and i dont think the mbrp can add 3mpg.

Maybe a tailwind? Were you 'drafting' rigs or other trucks? I'm not knocking you or questioning your math calculations, that's just excellent mileage, especially for 75 mph.
I was 'drafting' behind a rig last weekend over the cascades here in Washington - bout 65 mph and saw around 22.5 mpg, typically with no trucks in front I get around 19-21 (depending on the number of knuckleheads that I have to pass) All stock.
What, if any difference are you seeing around town with the new exhaust?
I went from Lake Tahoe to Marin co. and avg. 24.1 mpg. That is with a 6000 ft altitude
drop avg 65-70 mph. Not to bad for 8000lb of rolling mass. Other than that I avg 17.5 mpg on mixes hwy, city and county roads.
You need to check your milage over 5/6 fillups to be accurate. Nozzles are finiky at best and as long as you really don't know where it is in the tank or filler pipe it's a crap shoot at best. But 24 would be great in anyones book. A full vacation not towing on 5 tanks got mine 20.9 at 70/75 on back roads and interstates. I will interesting to see how mine goes with the EGR. Good Luck
my exhaust is 4inch alum. turbo back. i just fill up until the pump clicks off. i thinks having the tiny stock tires that came on my base model xlt helped too. kiss that milage goodbye when i get my new all terrians. also, what is and where can you get stanadyne? ive looked all around here and all they have is diesel kleen and some diesel cleaner thats indorsed by cummins? it seems to work but everyone keeps bragging about stanadyne, so i figured id better try it.

I've purchased Stanadyne online from US Diesel Parts. Also, check the list of FTE site sponsors for Stanadyne.
I use Diesel Kleen, grey bottle, now and it works great. I've been refilling the Stanadyne bottles with Diesel Kleen for the past 6-months. There's probably a better method or container I could use to refill, but this works for me.

thanks kepler,
customz, if the first time i filled up i just let it click, and the second time i let it click. would it have filled to the same spot?
Depends on how much diesel foaming you get. If you "harpoon" the vent tube in your tank you can put 32+ gallons in that "29" gallon tank. My wife always gets better fuel mileage than I do because she never fills the tank completely full--she has no patience to trickle the diesel to get it absolutely foam-free full. I agree that several tanks over a long stretch probably would get you a more accurate reading than one tank.
