Does anybody know where I can find out how many 350 camper specials were built in 79? I was told by the ford dealer that I have a rare truck. It is a 4x2, automatic,XLT, 140" wheel base, single wheel, 460. needs painted and minor body work and I don't know if it is worth investing that much money since I don't drive it any more. Only has 64000 miles and I thought that I would use it to tow a 5th wheel but gas prices put a stop to that idea for now. Thanks for any help.
It's rare enough and desired enough, that if it only costs a couple thousand to make it nice, IMO it's well worth it. Now if it costs more than say, $2500 to fix up nice, then it's all in your "feelings" about the truck and what you want out of it. Investing in an older tuck is as much a love of the truck as it is a need. Maybe if you don't care much about the truck, you could sell it to someone who does and buy something a little newer??? It's not really right to tell someone else they should do this or that when it is their time or money, it's all in what YOU feel is best for you. I would like to ask that you don't just let it rot away though. Once in awhile one comes up on E-bay. The nice clean ones with lot's of options do seem to bring good money, while the basic ones don't.
I agree with pre 80 if you dont care to drive it anymore and you dont think it would be worth investing into it myswell get what you can out of it now instead of less down the road but that is up to you of course they are fairly rare especially the ones in good shape and well optioned
