What is the rubber bumper thingy in the middle of the front leaf Spring between the frame and spring called. Mine is broken and I was online shopping for a new one but don't know what to call it? (2000 Excursion 7.3)
If there is a part number that would be great also but just the name would be helpful. Thank you in advance. Jim

Reason: added descriptive word for clarity
Would it be part # 11 or 13.? Mine looks like a rubber column. I can believe it is a bumper but it didn't look like what was in the pic. It looked much like a shock cover the rubber colored ones they sell. Thanks Jim
The Excursions have a different looking bumpstop than the SD pickups do.
Don't know the part number, but any parts guy should know what you're talking about.
On another note, a lot of Excursion owners have been switching over to the SD bumpstops, or cutting down their existing bumpstops to improve the ride of their X. The bumpstop is so large that the front suspension 'pogos' off of that bumpstop on any medium sized bump.
I guess the Ford engineers didn't think the X's needed suspension travel??
I think you are right #17 but they do look slightly different,, but mine are broken. A very Gracious Thank You for the help.. Now I know what to buy. Jim
You don't have to replace the bumpstops with OEM ones. Energy Suspension (http://www.energysuspension.com) makes replacement bumpstops for the Excursion that are much better than the Ford ones. In fact they make an entire master bushing replacement kit for your Ex.
