better EXHAUST sound

right now i have the 4.2 with a Flowmaster Delta 40. Im getting a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires tomorrow and I want to know how i can make my exhaust louder and throatier without any v6-like sound. I was thinkin take out a set of cats but im not sure how it will sound or how i would be able to reset the computer once the sensor recognizes the change. Also, how would a new set of MAC headers change sound?

The headers might change the sound. But remember it's a V6, it's gonna sound like a V6. The delta flow might make some difference, the 40 series is louder. The regular 50 series I mean.

A V6 will sound like a V6 though. Hi-flow cats are the way to go, as you can't just "reset" the computer after you remove cats to make it forget you did it. You'll have to trick the computer using one of the sensor trick things. If you have a visual inspection or (obviously) an emissions inspection in your state, you will fail.

Hi flow cats, could go for a regular 40 series to replace the delta, headers would help slightly, etc.
