Rear Storage
I've been looking at the new explorers and am wondering if you get more storage when you don't have the third seat? All the explorers at my local dealer have the extra seat and the salesmen wasn't very helpful. He made it sound like there is another compartment in its place. Is that correct? If anyone has any pictures, it would be great! Thanks

I'm not sure about the new ones, but on our 05 Mountaineer without the third seat there is a storage area similar in size and shape to the rear one that all the Explorers/Mountaineers have. It has a plastic panel covered with carpet to cover the hole where the seat would be. It is most easily accessible from the front (back seat) area rather than from the rear hatch, since the latch is at the front of the rear cargo area. Hopefully this description helps, can't get a picture since I'm at work and the mountaineer isn't.
