Removing door side guard?

Removing door side guard?
My 06' came with the "side door guards" Plastic painted to match. Are these just stuck on with double sided tape?
Looking to see if anyone removed them/had in trouble removing them. I think the side of the truck would look cleaner with them gone. I guess just use some fishing line to cut/pull off the tape?

your gonna wish they were their trust us!
becareful taking off the door sheet metal is thin you pull to hard or try to go to fast bent door skin.
some fishline is abrasive enough to cut through the clear coat.
