Cruise Control Prob..........

Hey guys. My truck is a 02 F-250 S/D with a V-10. I left for the river on Friday and went to set the cruise and nothing, the light on the dash wont come on. Looked in the manual for the fuse and it doesnt list anything to do with the cruise control, thought I was blind and had my smarter half look to see if she could find anything and she didnt see a fuse listed for it either. Does anyone know what fuse it is? I have had the cruise recall done too. I went through all the fuses that are hot in the key on position and they all look good but I dont know if it would only power up on the panel when im above 48mph when you can activate the cruise like it says in the manual. So, basically does anyone know what position the cruise fuse is? Thanks.

okay fuse 27 and fuse 34 are for the cruise control.
chk to make sure you have rear brake lights.

If you need further assistance, post back after chking those fuses.
Things that can fail in this circuit are
steering wheel sw's
airbag clock spring slider contacts
brake pedal sw
brake pressure sw
vss sensor
and the servo motor for cruise

The most common cause of this is the switch that is mounted on the master cylinder. It is probably leaking and has shorted out. My 02 did the same thing as has several others here. It's a easy swap.

BTW, it's the same part number that was involved with all those recalls on the F150s, but it didn't apply to us.

Thanks for the info guys. That was'nt it though. I took a look at the switch on the master and it's leaking again. I called Ford and am taking it in to have them replace it again. I hope that solves the prob. Thanks again for the info.

Its fixed.....................took it to the dealer and they jumped right on it. They put another switch on it, connector and pigtail and connector on the servo. Took about 30 minutes and it was done.
