In-bed toolbox

Man I'm scared to breath in the wrong section of this place. Here's hoping I'm in the right spot to ask this question. Anyways, I was curious about the toolbox thats on the bottom passenger side portion of some trucks. Is it a year thing or a model thing? Either way, whats the details?

thanks,

mdough6

Camper Special thing. Your talking about the little door behind the passenger door and in front of the rear tire?

mdough6, Welcome to the nations truckstop

I couldn't figure your opening comment, so I checked all of your post, and since you only have 2, it didn't take long. I see Tim edited your first post, and must presume you posted something that didn't fit site guidelines. We want everyone that is willing to, to have a great experence here. Our top goal is to help all that come with their truck issues. Maybe you can go back and read the guidelines and will feel more comfortable posting here.

Your toolbox is a model thing. It was offered for several years as part of a package, in models like camper, construction, ranch, etc. Specials.

Hope that you and your dad will have fun working on the ol truck.

John

Hello. I have a question too. I just got another parts truck and it has the toolbox. I didn't get any keys with the truck and the toolbox is locked.Whats the best way to get it open with the least amount of damage. Thanks

You could get the tool box on any 8ft bed as a seperate option, it was expensive seperately and thats why it was mostly on the camper special package. I have seen them on many non "camper special" trucks and am sure they were OEM.
It was a cool option. The only trucks I've never seen one on were the F350 crewcab longbeds.

Yup. My non-CS '69 has it right there where it belongs. I love that tool box. It's where I can keep crap like tie-downs, rope, triangles, oil, etc. without having to find another spot for it. Since I have the behind-the-seat gas tank that means A LOT.

Anyhoo, Welcome to FTE Mdough6! Don't be shy about coming back looking for answers or giving some of your own to others. Also, don't ever worry about being in the wrong part of the site with a post--if the mods don't catch it and move it then the other posters will be sure to let you know! It's all good!
