TFI module...First time for me.

We did the resistance tests on the TFI module from my 90 B II 2.9. Most of the points between the "D" pins and the "H" pins that were in the "K" amount of Ohms were 1300 - 1400 Ohms over the suggested values for an OEM module.
All 3 "D" pins to base tests did not regester on the meter(s)(we used 2 different brand meters) at all. The "base" is the metal plate on the back of the module, right?
The module was out of the truck and off the distributor during this test.
Are these the common findings for a faulty module? Or did we do the "D" pin test wrong?
History....The P/O said that the truck would occaisionally shut off after warming right up and restart about 1/2 hour later. His mechanic was unable to find the problem.
The truck shut off on me before fully warming up and would not restart thereafter.
Additional info required......What test(s) should be done on the profile ignition pickup before I button this thing back up? I have heard that the PIP rarely goes, but the distributor location on a 2.9 B II is not convenient at all & I don't mind putting in a PIP while the dizzy is already out.
After all the reading I've done on this subject, I think I've come up a little short on info like the root cause of the TFI module failure. Is there some other part/cause that commonly "pops" the TFI module?
Thanks In Advance.
AL.
I back-tracked the location of the test info.... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...77&postcount=8
It is in the first link. The other links were interseting too. I was happy to add reputation points for this info.

I would have expected a memory code 14 (loss of PIP) or a code 18 (loss of spout signal) would have come up from the computer if you scan it.

Short story...

We did scan for codes yesterday and came up with "11". There may have been some errors made in further scanning because it came up with "15" and later said the engine was a diesel.
Today, there were "no" codes.
The scanner is my buddy Bills' toy, so he was doing the tests & I'm just a rookie.

Now that the new module is installed, I need to know if the old module is a spare part.
The twist to my problem is the water leak in the passenger side "A" pillar.
Yup, it just got worse.
