Thanks guys! As I'm almost 60 I thought it was time to pass on as many skills to my son as I can before I'm gone. Sure is nice building hot-rods with him.
The "drilled" axel should be back from the chrome shop this week, and the rest of the frame parts from powder coat too. By the end of the week it should be back to a rolling chassis! Will post pics by this weekend....I hope!
Hey Fabmandelux, I think it's great to pass on your skills to your son... not to mention spending the time with him. My dad is in his 60's and I live pretty far away. He gave me his old 64 f100 when I was 14... it got destroyed. I always said someday I'd build another one, started thinking I'd better not wait too late. This year was the year! I'm happy to say there are now some pics in my gallery of me and dad working on a donor truck I just bought for my project truck... reminds us of the old days! Anyway, never say I WISH I WOULD HAVE SPENT MORE TIME WITH HIM... just do it - and do it with a FORD! Hope you and your son are having as much fun as we are!!!
Beautiful job on the frame. I love that home made frame stand.
My father and I had spent many hours on my old truck that was my grandfathers truck.
I wish he was around to help me now and he would love all the mods I have done to it. He and I have always had a love for this old truck since it was new.
My father also passed down many of the skills I use in my day to day life and proffesion. He was in the Dairy industry his whole life as well as I have been. We both love turning wrenchs and welding and I am glad I can use those skills to put a roof over my familys heads and feed them.
I lost my father about 4 years ago at the age of 74 and can proudly say he taught me well. We fished together as well as worked together. We had a great life together.
Keep up the good work your son will treasure for the rest of his life.
